Exciting news for hArt in 2020
We are delighted to announce that hArt now has a Patron -
Hylton Murray-Philipson.
Hylton, a local landowner and environmentalist, has been a longtime supporter of hArt, offering the use of his land for some of our projects, and is a true advocate for the power of being outdoors and appreciating and learning from the natural environment.
As Chairman of Global Canopy, an Oxford-based think tank for tropical forests and Chairman of Willows Activity Farm - home to Peter Rabbit - Hylton believes passionately in the links between health and the environment and has been hosting some of hArt’s outdoor art psychotherapy workshops on his farm near Lymington.
Hylton’s involvement with hArt marks a pivotal moment, as we develop new outdoor creative therapy groups as well as continuing – once the COVID-19 restrictions lift sufficiently – with our popular indoor sessions.
“As hArt’s new Patron, I’m particularly keen to promote the use of outdoor spaces to benefit health and wellbeing, providing opportunities to offer creative and educational activities under the guidance of experienced and skilled therapists and facilitators.”

Both Kevin Mann and Vivian Purcell bring considerable experience and knowledge with them to help hArt progress through this difficult time. They will both contribute to hArt delivering brilliant projects going forward and the sustainability of our charity into the future.

Julie has been getting creative with her sewing machine!
She is making non-medical face masks, with a protective insert, from some lovely fabrics and is keen to raise funds for hArt by selling them.
If you would like to buy one (or several!) please use the Donate button near the top of this, and every page.
Suggested donation please of £3 for 1 mask and £5 for two, and if you can add a little extra to cover postage and packing, that would be perfect! Then use the “contact” form to let us know the fabric you would like, the number you want, and your name and address so the masks can be posted out to you.

Our chair of trustees and hArt founder, Annie, has gone back to making some sculpture – starting with the reworking of an old piece she has refreshed and updated.
This is a piece just called “Kids”
and is now in Annie’s garden where it is bringing pleasure to people walking, riding and cycling by, who have been smiling and saying how joyful it is. Annie hopes that it suggests optimism,
togetherness, joy and hugs to be enjoyed again in the future.
'hArt's and Minds' Well being Bus on tour!
hArt's First Volunteers Tea Party, July 2019
We recently held our first 'Volunteers' Tea Party' at the beautiful Lime Wood Hotel in the New Forest.
It was an opportunity to thank all of our wonderful volunteers for their incredible work in supporting hArt, through their many varied roles, and for their help in the successful delivery of our projects.
We'd also like to thank Lime Wood Hotel for their incredible hospitality and delicious cream tea!
We must also thank the wonderful Room to Reward whose initiative 'hotel breaks for hidden heroes' offers rewards to volunteers for their invaluable contribution.
We presented our first reward to one of our longest standing volunteers, Mags Butterworth, who has been with us since the beginning, and whose support is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers - we really couldn't do it without you!

hArt Partnership Day - June 2019
We had a great time on 11th of June, sharing our work with an invited group of people including some from the NHS South West Primary and Community Team, Solent Mind, care navigators and local school teachers.
A huge thank you to our lead art therapist, Sam Lewis for the brilliant 'Bee hotel' workshop, and to Richard Parker from 'Active Arts' for the wonderful drum circle.
One of the many great comments we received was:
