hArt pArtnerships

hArt works with a variety of organisations
to create and run projects and events,
share resources and raise funds.

hArt is delighted to be supported by Coastal Gallery, a leading independent contemporary art gallery situated in Lymington, as their Charity Partner.

The gallery specialises in modern artwork by contemporary artists and designers, including abstract art, landscape and fine-art photography, printmaking, sculpture, studio ceramics and jewellery. Coastal Gallery also stocks a select range of ‘art-inspired’ accessories, clothing and gifts.

Coastal Gallery is co-owned and managed by Stewart Mechem, contemporary abstract artist, and Bev Saunders, designer and fine art photographer.

“We are passionate about bringing contemporary art and design to Lymington, and share our enthusiasm through gallery exhibitions, open days, private views, and art and design consultancy.”

Bev and Stewart look forward to welcoming you to Coastal Gallery at 4 Southampton Road, Lymington SO41 9GG (Opposite Waitrose).

Coastal Gallery

As part of their support of hArt, we are delighted that Coastal Gallery is once again offering us the opportunity to be part of their Hampshire Open Studios Exhibition.

Hampshire Open Studios is an annual art trail where the public can meet artists in their studios and galleries. In the week leading up to Summer Bank Holiday Monday in August, 250 studios, galleries, artists and art groups (in excess of 500 artists) open their doors to exhibit original artwork, and give talks and demonstrations. This is an amazing opportunity to meet professional and amateur artists who show their work in diverse venues around the county.

Coastal Gallery has again taken the wonderful exhibition space at ArtSway in Sway, Saturday 19th – Monday 28th August inclusive, to expand their gallery for the Hampshire Open Studios event – year two of an innovative collaboration between Coastal Gallery and Hampshire Open Studios.

Coastal Gallery 2016 ArtSway Exhibition

Organised and curated by Coastal Gallery, the show brings together the very best collection of modern artwork by locally-based contemporary artists, new emerging talents and established artists of international acclaim. This prestigious event will attract a wide-ranging audience, from design-savvy and art-loving New Forest residents, businesses and visitors, to artists, designers, collectors and journalists.

The exhibition will include works by Martyn Brewster, Julie Collins, Gohar Goddard, Stephen Powell, Jennie Slater, Ingrid Stirling and Chris Whittaker, and a stunning collection of ceramics by Jackie Giron and Arek Nowicki.

This year, Gallery Three will feature work by leading digital artists, including digital film and video by acclaimed ‘pop art icon’ Duggie Fields.

A series of artists’ talks and workshops will take place throughout the exhibition, and a pop-up shop will sell an eclectic collection of cards, prints, ceramics and accessories, including exclusive handmade jewellery by Jo Vane.

An opportunity to support hArt
A chance to win a work of art

We are extremely pleased to be enjoying the wonderful continuing support of Coastal Gallery and many of their artists, who have offered pieces of work for a raffle to be held during the exhibition, with all proceeds coming to hArt.

Last year, this brought us the sum of just over £1,800, and we hope to do even better this year!

We will be able to take more online sales this year, as well as being present at ArtSway for the exhibition from Saturday 19th August where the prize works will be on show.

hArt is thrilled to be supported by Coastal Gallery and to benefit from this prestigious exhibition, which promises to be even better this year than the spectacular event held last August. We look forward to giving you more information nearer the time.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to help support the excellent work of hArt through artworks kindly donated by the many talented New Forest artists represented by Coastal Gallery – including Julie Collins, Martyn Brewster, Chris Whittaker, Jennie Slater and Stephen Powell. Hampshire Open Studios is now such a popular attraction and we are hoping for record numbers to visit the Coastal Gallery exhibition at ArtSway this year.”
